In the spring of 2006, garden club members incorporated into the gardens an area
where a tree had been removed. They added a lattice divider with clematis and
climbing roses and a wooden well filled with blooming wave petunias. A memorial
rock and stepping stones are prominently featured near the well . This area has
become the focal point of the garden on the south wall.
Some of the perennial plants whose beauty enhance
the grounds and that provide varying displays throughout
the spring, summer and fall are: tulips, irises, coral bells,

Blooms are used for arrangements in the museum buildings. Seedums members also cut and arrange flowers to be shared with Cheboygan Memorial Hospital Extended Care Unit, Hospice House and Cheboygan Health Care Center.
In 2009 a herringbone patterned walkway was created from Huron Street into the rose
garden. A verdigris iron trellis now offers entrance to the garden from the walkway which
was laid with the 1906 blocks removed from Main Street.
The herb garden is another favorite hosting a variety of plants
from peppermint to garlic offering a taste sensation to young palates
during spring school tours.
